Sometimes it seems history has a way of exacting retribution. When Salem "witch" Sarah Good was led to the gallows July 29, 1692, she famously yelled at one of her accusers, Rev. Nicholas Noyes: "I'm no more a witch than you are a wizard, and if you take away my life, God will give you blood to drink!" In other words some day he'd choke on his "own" blood. And Noyes did in 1717, when he choked on blood due to an embolism, probably caused by a severe case of the flu. Ideas of fair retribution have changed a lot since then. Plus that's probably more a case of poetic justice. I personally am skeptical of both now.
