I went in today, filled out the forms, paid my dues, and at the end the clerk said something along the lines that they would be sending a form to the address I filled out and if it wasn't signed and mailed back they would cancel the PO. Is this true? What would I do if the address I filled out wasn't exactly mine? :\
Just make sure to tell the recipient at that mailbox you're expecting a letter with whatever name that they sent it to the wrong address but it won't happen again. If you look normal enough [short haired; not a full beaded bearded long haired hippie] then they'd probably accept it as an honest mistake and act like it's no inconvenience.
Weird. I signed up and paid for a PO box online, went in to pick up the keys, and that was the end of it. No verification or anything annoying.
I can't find anything that says anything about verifying my address, which is why I was so confused. I don't know, I'll give it a month and if it's not closed I'll assume it's not going to be.
oh damn that sucks you should have gone to that address and told them you accidentally got a letter sent there... out of curiosity, what kind of place was this that was offering the PO box? a USPS post office or what specifically?
