I'm currently collecting, hoping to collect 100 hats. Please PM me for info or pattern. IT'S DISGUSTING HOW MANY PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD CANNOT AFFORD BASIC ESSENTIALS LIKE WARM CLOTHES. It's unbelievably easy and can be knit in a day or less. My goal is to collect 100 toques by August 31st of this year to send to a needy charity looking for warm clothes, likely to be sent to a 3rd world country. The reason why I'm doing this collection is so that I can contact local newspapers during August - not for self promotion, but rather to promote the charity I'm mailing the hats to, in order to bring positive attention. If you truly want to spread a little good karma in the world, please put some effort into this. If you don't want to knit a hat, you can donate a used hat in good condition. Thanks! I know this seems redundant and few people are probably reading this thread, but I did want to post one last time that I do appreciate all the hats (and some homemade scarves and mitts too!) that folks from here have already sent. Please keep them coming. For those of you who already have my mailing address, please keep it in mind until the end of august, in case you collect any more scraps you can knit together and mail me. For those of you who don't but are interested, please email me asap before August 31st and make sure your knits are in the mail by then. Hopefully this'll be a big enough success!
