you can upload a pig to a service like imgur.com or something and then just post the url of the image in IMG tags like and it should show up...

 

pretty sure they're ready when then caps are fully opened and have started to curl at the edges

You shouldn't wait that long to pick them. You want to pick them before they begin to drop spores.

i'm a first time grower, but i just assumed the way i described was best because that's when you should pick edible (non-magic) mushrooms.

why is that? do they degrade in potency when they start to drop spores?

 

when they drop spores youll have ink everywhere..

Spores dropping everywhere just makes things kind of messy. Not really a bad thing, but if your tub contams, it makes it much more of a bitch to see.

Spores also taste nasty as fuck.

People say that mushies are slightly more potent right before the veil breaks than after they start to drop spores, but people say a lot of shit that doesn't hold true. This would be an example.
