the buildings were part of fort ruger dating back to the late 1800's. There are even old bunkers on the top edge. Now it's just hiking trails. You'd be surprised how many people here insist on air conditioning. Mostly mainland "haoles" who just moved here.
Shit that's 104 degree F for us.. That's like a really bad fever! But then you cool down a wee bit in the winter

kine iv been meaning to ask you...which island are you on? iv spent a bit of time on kauai over the years (im a recovering kalalou hippy). its my home away from home. somthin real special bout the land there.
i'm on oahu. Love Kauai though. I'll retire on the big island in about 10-15 years though. Hopefully I'll live near terrence mckenna...:cheers2:
