what are some places you'd like to visit of historical significance? I'd love to visit dresden, tinian, bletchley park, hiroshima, and potentially nagasaki..... any others?
England, the coast of France I haven't been to, Ireland. I loved Italy seeing as there was so much history to be seen!!!!!!
urm, i'd like to see antarctica(my current thing), russia, south africa, peru, chile(easter isle)...and all of America.
Rome, Egypt, all of Central America, Scotland... most likely many other places that i cant think of as of now
I definetly would love to visit Italy; then germany--I have anchestors there. Seeing the alps in austria and swizerland wouldn't be bad either.
I always want to keep going to Normandy to pay my respect for all the soldiers that gave their lives for people they would never know. War, such a waste of life and letters.
persepolis - the old capital of the persian empire in iran - alexander the great burnt it down krak les chevaliers - an old crusader castle in syria and the roman sites there, want to go there before the yanks blow the place to kingdom come and destroy whats left. the alps, germany, austria and switzerland- walking around amongst the hills acting out my "sound of music" fantasy and going to salzburg. went to munich last winter- shudder -15 centigrade so i figure i'll go in summer. petra - jordan egypt america - once things have calmed down over there and sanity has been restored - the meteor crater in arizona, kennedy space centre, yosemite, disneyland!!!! canada explore the rest of turkey before it joins the eu and becomes too expensive to visit greece but by camper van only, fed up of crap food, crappy hotels and high expense for bugger all in return. can see myself wandering the taygetus and parnon mountain ranges. combing over the ancient sites.
Russia I'm writing a historical novel, about the murder of Rasputin. So desperatly want to actually go to the 'crime scene' and get a true feel for the location. Have been facinated by that time and place for years.
Egypt, just to stand and gaze upon the Pyramids! That would be a wondrous site. I had a cousin that worked for a phone company, that laid new lines there, he said it struck him with awe! He would never forget that site as long as he lived!
Chinon and the abbey of Fontevrault in France. Love the Plantagenets, especially Eleanor of Aquitaine.
Do I get a time machine or am I stuck with jet planes? I'd like to see Shakespear tread the boards, listen to Mozart's opening night, Woodstock would be nice. Menlo Park would be interesting in its heyday. The Barbary Coast in '49. Antibellum New Orleans. Hearing JS Bach live would be sweet.
