You show that pepper plant who's in charge. Eradicate some on my behalf, brother.

There's quite a strange anomaly I've noticed of recent, actually...

Coca-Cola is brewed from coca erythroxylum...thus the reason it once contained cocaine. Root beer is brewed from piper auritum, which contains safrole, and Dr. Pepper is brewed from the thujone-containing absinthium artemisia.

Makes you wonder if our ancestors were getting fucked up on common carbonated beverages at some point in time...?

That's why they stopped putting cocaine in Coca-Cola.

Well, they stopped putting cocaine in Coca-Cola because it could be used as a local anesthetic, e.g., more tax for the government; which is pretty much the case for all Schedule II - VI drugs. I just thought it was interesting that Coca-Cola always happens to be mentioned while the root beer and Dr. Pepper phenomenons happen to be phased out.

There's more than likely even more common carbonated beverages that are brewed from psychedelic plants, and potentially double-digit amounts of various juices that are squeezed from psychoactive fruit, as I remember Shulgin listing numerous sources for DMT/NMT and their variants in common fruits and vegetables in TIHKAL, which would be totally inactive unless taken in combination with an MAOI...chapter 15, page 247, "DMT is Everywhere", if you care to read along. :p
