i find this album amazing, its just so...... amazing. its not like the more known pink floyd. its improvozational psycodelic.

i love this band and everything they make.

and i dont agree with people who think the wall had no plot at all. because it did.

so what do you think of this album, or the band?

I like A Saucerful Of Secrets, especially "Let There Be More Light" and "Jugband Blues," but it doesn't compare to The Piper at the Gates of Dawn.

i have been looking for that album for a long time, i have the vinal record, but it is so old and delicate i dare not attempt to use it.

so i keep going, looking for it. knowing that one day soon, i shall find a music shop with it.

it shall be mine some day soon.

Haha, it's funny that you have a vinyl copy of The Piper..., which is really rare, but you can't find a CD copy, which is pretty common. :D Heh, how ironic.

Saucer was great, so was Piper, but I ripped Live at Pompeii and that's about the only I can remotely listen to anymore. They were my favorite band since I was in the crib (really, my parents put headphones on me and floyd was insta-calm-fulmah) and I've just heard them too much. Always makes me happy to see others discovering them, especially the older stuff :)

its not their best album by anymeans, but its not their worst either. It has its moments. Personally I rather listen to the live incarnations of the title track and Set the Controls. best track is probably Let There Be More Light. worst: See Saw.

It's great that Pink Floyd is being enjoyed by so many folks today! I started listening to them when I was 17! Love 'em! Went to a concert in Atlanta only to find out it was sold out(things were different then. You could usually buy tickets at the door!)We hung out by the side doors listening.Someone from inside pushed the door open & we ran like crazy to get in! Cops ran after us blowing their whistles,we mingled into the masses & got to listen to Dark Side of the Moon, all for FREE! It was fantastic! Bless whoever that was that shoved that door open! That auditorium, near GSU,is no longer there.I saw the Dead there, good memories! All Things Must Pass:George Harrison

I hated the movie THe Wall, that took 2 hours from me i'll never see again. Remember what Dylan said "lost time is not found again". I really like Jugband Blues, unitl it gets al the weird noises. It'd be much better as a solo quiet guitar song.

I agree with you. The weird noises just don't fit Syd, if you ask me.

They actually quite do, a link between insanity and creativity, the brass band actually playing something was Norman Smith's idea, them playing random stuff was what Syd wanted, they couldn't agree on which to do and Syd just walked out of the studio in frustration, so both were put in as a compromise.

I almost bought that the other day...

Lou Reed's Berlin came before The Wall as well.

Its pretty good, though not my fav Pretty Things era ( I prefer there earliest beat boom material).

btw on the new live version they did a few years ago, david gilmour played some of guitar with them!
