So, a relative close to me has had a very tough life and she's found now this group of meditation that it's supposed to activate the pineal gland through meditation. She feels it's working for her, last night she told me she's been feeling better already and that things finally seem to be moving in the right direction. But also she mentioned that they charge quite a bit of money per session and that a lot of the teachings are about how to get what you want, how we are capable of making things happen through intention... but it really seems like it's awfully focused on the ego... "It's what I want and if I don't wanna do something I just won't because I don't want to, period. It's all about me and how to get a better job, a bigger paycheck, the house of my dreams, etc." In fact, the person that turned her into this thing claims ot really works for her because now she has a huge farm house and doesn't live in a tiny apartment anymore, that she's the best at what she does (selling), that she's got a better job and a bigger paycheck than she used to get before... just materialistic things, and that the activation of her pineal gland has helped her to realize her full potential and how to get what she wants. That whole part (plus charging a convenient fee that's not so convenient) really threw me off, but she seems so convinced by it and that ot's working for her that I don't wanna burst her bubble. How do you go at it? She's finally found something that is making her feel less miserable, but I can't help seeing a load of bull poo that's being focused on all the "wrong things" that have nothing to do with peace of mind, enlightment or spiritual growth.
Hide your soul from mankind. but expose everything about it to the deluging whale submerging that mankind with you for only the quality of extension. People can't read each others' mind, in fact they get fooled into believing they even know each other per cognition.
Yeah, this "visualize the money, feel the money" bullshit has been around a long time. All you have to do is meditate on how you're going to get rich, while giving money to the people telling you how to placebo yourself. Not to say that placebo doesn't work, or that positive attitudes and behaviors don't work. But you don't need to pay anyone to teach you how to approach things in a positive light - and the internet's full of people telling you how to meditate, do yoga, etc., for free. Spiritual growth is simply damaging delusion if it's based on lies. Burst her bubble now, vulnerable people being lured into that sort of delusion during rough times can cause permanent psychological damage, to the point of psychosis. I think the most dangerous part is that they know, on some level, that it's total bullshit - and it teaches them to lie to themselves and delude themselves more effectively. It's not kinder to wait longer, just because the lie is making her happy now - it's much worse to start building your life around a lie, and etch that kind of magical thinking into your personality and approach to problem solving.
