Anyone know of a way to get a fairly cheap pill press? Can even just be a handheld one... I much prefer the convenience of pre-measured doses to whipping out a scale every time I want something.
How would one go about measuring out doses for gel caps? individually? Seems like a bit of a pain in the ass.
Vita press works well...be careful when pressing as airborn chems can get you stupid fukked up...pressed some of my own MDMA/MDA combo caps for ease of transport, gels can break which SUCKS, and get seriously trashed when I didn't necessarily want to...yes I said it, there is a time when I do not want to be under..
That's sweet. Maybe I'll buy one. Are the pills of good quality? Do they break easily? I think you'd need more compression than just your hand.
I have seen a bunch of people selling antique pill presses and pill rollers (how do they work?) Anybody had any luck with those guys?
ok, i don't know much but here go's. for the press it looks like a lot of money. anyhoo, i use a dillon reloading machine. it has precise measurements of power (gun) for my .357 mag and .38 specials i reload. these could be modified for gel caps with a little skill. you would pump out a several hundred and hour e-a-s-y.. basically, you put the gun powder (powder) in a container, when you pull the handle down a specific (adjustable) amount falls into the casing, you dump the casing on the grain scale (we measure in grains else bullets can blow up your gun in your face in error) weigh it. if it's good, you tighten the adjuster or leave it alone (i forget). the casing moves around on a turret. and another position you put in a bullet (here you'd just put on the gel cap i guess). try this link if you think this is a potential solution... if you buy a used one off ebay, and it doesn't work for your purposes, list back on ebay go to dillonprecision.com and look at the reloading machines. i have the xl650 myself. goodluck..
nice mcguyver solution skerb...candy press machines using a simple hydraulic press (manual) also works...I have seen a sheet of 1000 "mints" being pressed at the same time..not sure of the make or model...but it looked rather simple and fairly inexpensive
haha! thx.. it's not hydraulic, it's call a progressive loader.. which means you have different stages.. like depriming/sizing (the case), new primer, add powder charge and flare, manually put bullet on top, crimp bullet at casing.. eject into bin of completed bullets.. but now that YOU threw hydraulic out there, how about a cheap bottle jack and something to serve as a mold. mabye build a 2 x 4 wood frame, put a cheap bottle jack, or screw jack from your car inside, put mold on top, squish it.. what do you use for a binder, starch? do you need moisture to activate starch for a binder? or make the frame out of angle iron instead of wood, add maybe FRUIT PECTIN? and hit the compressed mold with a inexpensive propane torch for a few secs? maybe i'll try some day by crushing asprine and remolding it...
