Body piercings aren't done with a solid needle. They're done with a hollow needle so they take out a cookie cutter like punch of skin. This prevents excessive scar tissue. She should use one of these needles, but it will be hard to find.

I would say to go to a piercer becuase they know about all the nerves/vessels that run through the nips that you don't want to jam apiece of metal through.

If she must do it herself, tell her to check out bmezine.com. They've got a faq sheet for self piercings(though they don't recommend it)

    Peace

My wife has checked into it and I have to agree with the other. It would be tremendous to do it yourself and require alot of strength and willpower. A professional would do it in a second, in and out, baddabing, lay the cash down and clean, clean, for about 6 months to a year, especiaaly after sex (sweat and saliva). I am pierced several times over, some of which are intimate as well as my wife. We should know.
Just wanna help, PM me if you need!
