well, i think so many people only associate piercings with punk-dom, but do they fit well with hippies?! , cuz i'm a hippie and got several: lobes(okay...), left upper cartilage, left tragus, right antitragus...

    opinions!

i think piercings look fine on anyone. as long as your not doing it for a certain image, you'll never acquire that image and you can make it completely your own. i just got my nose done yesterday! i'm so psyched, lovin it.

In my opinion, you cannot proclaim yourself a hippie- you shouldn't try and do things that only fit a certain category, you should do what fits you- whether it's a thousand piercings from head to toe or none at all, whatever makes you happy and feels right, that's the way to go

    Hippie is an idiotic stereotype...

On topic, I love piercings, as long as they are not the main fashion trend of the person wearing them... a couple of piercings here and there can always do well.

What's your point? Why cant this person be a Hippy?
It isn't ABOUT what you look like! Never has been!

I have piercings and I'm a "hippie". It's not right to stereotype yourself so much but yea, I'm a hippie with piercings...

Are the piercings feeding the machine? If they are then we've got a problem.

exactly what mountain girl said. as long as you dont get periced for a certain look you wont become that image. peircings are for anyone and everyone. im a hippie and i have several peircings. tongue, nipples, ears, nose.

Piercings can look good on anyone - regardless of who they are.

well, i'm very taken by the modern primitivism moment. its kind of a statement that we, our generation, are going beyond the body, to prove its all so temporary. its a refreshing backlash to all the attention and focus our media has on the entertainment industry, what with their focus on looks and appearences. but really, its all just kinda cool looking. i really dig stretched lobes and whatnot.

I've got both my lobes pierced. right now they are at 2 guage. Someday I will probably go to 0. I don't know why I keep stretching them really. People always ask me why I would do something like that and I can honestly say I don't know. I guess to me it is some kind of tribal individualization process to more fully understand who I am. Cultures have been doing such things since the beginning of culture. It is a sort of right of passage.

Arg.....this shit again? Just do what you want to do....just do what you like....who cares what anything or anyone lables you as... I say... "I like this, I'm going to wear it...or I'm going to do it" who the hell cares about anything else. It doesn't matter.

My point is that he didn't seem to be doing this based on what he wanted, but based on what a hippie would want.
