How did you make those beads? I want to make some!!! I have the perfect yarn for it...

Your dreads look amazing. I wear my hair up all the time too...it did keep the ends from dreading really badly until I stopped using those elastic/cloth ponytail holders. Now I use...I don't know what they are exactly. They're made of the same kind of cloth as a really thin stretchy headband...almost like a mix of pantyhose and cotton...I got 6 of them for $0.96 at wal mart. they're much gentler on my hair and don't pull the ends loose anymore, so now they actually have a chance at forming.

I chain stitched about 8, and then made it into a ring (chain more for a bigger bead, less for a smaller). I'm not sure what size hook I used. Then I just single crocheted around until it was how long i wanted it...I think four or five times around.

I really like the yarn i used...its made from a bunch of tiny threads.
I'm going to attempt to make some more intricate ones w/ embroidery thread next
    :)

ooo, i bet if you use 100% wool thread it's felt up nice after a few washing, looks like your's did that. i'm going to try this too. i suck at crotchet but i bet i could knit one up fairly easily. thanks for the idea!

Those locks look so good! :)

Is it so, that if you put up the dreads in a ponytail the ends dread slower? I often take mine in a bun on the top of my head, and all of my ends are loose... any connection?
