man I love taking pictures and stuff. I take a lot of pictures of people and like citys and life and stuff, my question is...if I were to ever sell pictures, like, could I sell the ones with people in it? Some I just focus in on like, a guy playing chess or something, can you sell those? Who else likes taking pictures? Share some! Peace and Love.
I love black and white photography, I feel the true essence of the subject matter comes out from behind all those colors, especially when dealing with older people, I love seeing all their wrinkles, its like every winkle has a story to tell. And kids, in black and white, its like you can see their true innocence.
exactly!!! yes yes yes! I don't do color...only black and white, it stripes everything away and bares the true beauty I think.
There is a basic permission form that you need to have signed by the "subject", meaning the person in the photograph, before you have full sale rights. Just to answer your question.....I'm also a photographer, among other things. Loves. Keep capturing the moments.....
:-( so.............even if you don't sell them, you still can't just take their picture because it looks interesting?
No no no.....You CAN take their picture if you want to. You just don't have full sale rights unless you get a formal permission form signed. So, go ahead, take pictures of anything/everything...but you can't sell/publish it unless you have permission! Don't worry. It's all good.
lol yeah but wait untill someone really likes it and wants to buy and and you have NO idea who the person is, lol. Yeah, I LOVE taking random peoples pictures....I just hate when they give you nasty looks or look at you weird, heh. RUN!
gotta be a challenge to go up to someone and just say, "hey, i'm an artist, and i just had to take your picture because the image was so... [insert reason here]... would you sign this form?" and explain what it means (find a model release form on the web that makes sense to you!). if it's a homeless person, give them a donation for their cooperation.... the worst that can happen is they'll say no, and then you can go home, master watercolour painting and sell the paintings of the photos!!
very thorough model release forms note you also need one for images of someone's property (anything they own).
