Photo shop debate

It's not everything concluded.. because welll art is rather big and its all rather tricky to understand really. I don't know why i need to understand it. I guess its like... people wanting to understand how the world begun. It's something you'll never really truely understand but everyones got their own interpretaions... you simply just have to pick and choose what best explains it for you.

art is something inside your head then it comes out. (this applies to music as art, too)

you control the medium of the paint/computer/whatever and produce what was in your head - the medium doesn't control itself. it has to be you controlling it not the other way round...

but art is the inside of your head outside your head

 

Spot on, I think there's definitely a degree of elitism in wider art circles which would want to see less classical conceptions put down, and keep art in the hands of an intellectual elite, away from wider audiences and mass forms of distribution....

 

Aside from what dok and sal are saying (to which i agree, art should be a medium which is open to everyone, and i believe that it is just that)

i still cannot agree that anything and everything can be art. That isnt so much interlectual elitism, but purely philosophical question to which i take the stance that not everything is art.

As i keep saying art is in the world it isnt the totality of it!

 

I think "art" is a very hard thing to define. I think it is art because i believe a lot of art is to do with an idea or statement and if you use a computer to realise your idea or statement then thats ok.

 

I think it is art ... art is expression! And if creating computerised images such as Photoshop and CGI is a way for a person to express themselves then yes it is art. Such as is music If what is in your head can be relayed onto paper, computer scree, sculpture, music notes etc... it is art

I think you've got have to do an level in art...it messes up the way you think about art.. its soul destroying but its also helping to open your mind...

It kinda completely ruins the ideals i had about art.. makes it something so much harder to reach.. its these exams.. i neevr did like them. It is just so hard to do something you'll get appreciated for gradewise... that i started to think this must be true of art in general.. it should be hard in life to determine what is and isn't art. There you all saying NO art is anything and everything.
It's like. ARGH I DON'T KNOOW.
