well... maybe not so philosophical, but i tried. The hour glass symbolizes how short our lives are, in comparison with eternity (represented by the figure eight the arms make). It's also just about how confused i feel about the concept of time. Also, it's keeping salvador dali alive.

I've seen a lot of your art ... this one is just another aspect of who you are. Show the others ... :)

I like any attempt at philosophical art. To me philosophy seems like our entire family history or families dna code arrising in conscious thought. I like anyone who's fearless enough even to start looking inward at themselves in that way. Very cool.
    Peace,
    George

Its sort of understandable, a lot of ppl like to c work that is completely original. However, in my opinion, appropriation is key in all art forms, and prevelant in architecture, music, and society itself. I do not believe Aoxo "ripped" the clocks off from Dali, merely pirated and appropriated them. Its something that spoke to him, and he used it to express his own confusion about time. It isn't like he just did a blatent copy or anything. I love this piece and I think its beautiful!!

Thats not what I said, I said taking Dali's clocks up to your own level. Using Dali's clock to express time is ok, often I use other people their work too to get inspired. What is completely original? Ive never seen something that I couldnt relate to any artistic way of thinking, and I think its good when things are not original. Art learns from time and previous thoughts and grows trough time like human existance.

And anyways the Dali is just a part of the work, we can also look from the colors and say but He' isnt that Fauvism? It just means to me that Im impressed by this young boy that clearly expresses artistic ways of looking up on the world.
    cheers

I think it is very well composed and the colors are good. and seriously, he is 18. give him a break. art is not necessarily exact imagery as much as style, line quality, and relationship to ideals. i still think this idea is great, and the more you draw and paint the better you will get.
