I'm so excited that I'll be in Philadelphia soon. I'm just waiting a little bit more, before I call the cab to go to the airport. I havent slept, neither I attempted to. Im way too excited , my flight leaves at 6:20 AM, from here I go to Cleveland and then Philly. I hate connecting flights, but whatever, coffee and books are my friends. I agree, Pittsburgh and west PA is pretty boring. But I've traveled most of this entire country, homeless and with cash so I've lived both worlds, and no matter where I've gone, no place has ever matched my mentality so much as Philadelphia. I've lived extensive stints in many big cities, and I've never felt like I belong anywhere else but here. But to each his own of course, I wish you good luck in your future living situation jusdino. Im not a big fan of philly either. But ive lived in PA my entire life, and i think its preatty natural for people to hate where they grow up. From the time i was 7-12 my dad spent 4 days a week in phily on buissness, so i know the city preatty well. I just cant wait to move out to cali!!! Iliana is from the Domincan Republic, but moved to Canada last year to go to school. I've lived in Philly all my life other than during my rainbow family trips and homeless stints across America. But she has come and stayed with me a few times and she loves it here too namaste

Yea I have friends how live there, artsy psychedelic kids :tongue: South Philly is just as bad to tell the truth. Many murders, the only plus is the rent is cheap and people blaze outside like it's legal and don get bothered, cops just keep moving along. I once got pulled over in Germantown with 3 other kids, one of them had crack in his shoe and the cops beat the living shit out him before even finding the drugs, my obvious assumption is because he was black. They didnt even ask licsense and registration, they opened the back door, pulled the black kid out, slammed him in the face and then harrassed the rest of us. My first exposure to police brutality at 15 years old :tongue: Moral of the story : Dont go to North Philly if your up to no good!
my friend was telling me a story about how they had driven to some ghetto in n philly to buy some weed, and they got stopped by the cops. Basicly the cops told them that they knew why they were here and for them to go home. To make a long story short, they didnt listen to the cop, and went to the gas station near where they were headed to wait for a little while then try again. All the sudden, the cops pop back up and are like wtf?? we told you to go home. So now the cops are like " you kids know now that your either going to get robbed or killed cause everyone has seen you talking with us and will think your cops" and like took them home and shit cause they didnt want them to get hurt lol talk about nice cops
That's really cool, but too bad for the kids trying to score weed. Sometimes cops are really cool, and love doing to right thing. Other times, not so much.

one of my best friends from highschool lived in philly for a while and loved it. she was going to school there at the time...some all-female art school....i think its called moore or something like that. i've never visited. the only times i've gone to PA were for camping or visiting gettysburg with my parents, or just passing through on road trips. the countryside is pretty, though, but then it is pretty just about everywhere i've seen countryside....especially in the northwest (same friend now lives on vashon island near seattle, and i HAVE visited her there) anyway, philly would be a cool place to visit, but i'd want to do a lot of nerdy stuff like see if there are any good museums and go visit historical sites and such.... have a safe flight, and have a wonderful visit
The first time I was ever in Philly, before I knew John, basically all I did was walk around and go to a Rodin museum. I was only here for a day, the museum was small, but very very cool. My flight was ok, it got super delayed in Cleveland, but I'm here, so it's all good
