"Oscar-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead of an apparent drug overdose inside a Greenwich Village home on Sunday, cops said.
Hoffman’s body was found by a friend at 11:30 a.m. Sunday morning in an apartment at 35 Bethune St., sources said.
Cops are at the scene and are investigating, sources said.
Hoffman has admittedly struggled with drug addiction in the past, and reportedly checked himself into rehab last year for heroin abuse."

He was a damn good actor. Shit.

 

That sucks. I liked him.

 

Article I red said he was found dead with a needle sticking out of his arm. There ya' go. A bunch have died with some new combo of heroin and another drug.

 

He was awesome in every film I've seen him in. Even in minor roles he was outstanding. This is sad. RIP to a great actor.

Devastated. Artists should be banned from heroin, it always takes the greats.

Philip Seymour Hoffman was one of those rare few who can play a distinct character with absolute emotional depth and honesty. It's a damn shame.

 

Supposedly they found 5 empty bags next to him and almost 50 other bags with the ace of spades stamped on them.

 

So heroin use is on the rise again and a great actor dies. Those who call marijuana a gateway drug will jump on this in their arguments against legalization.
