Hey all Heres the deal; As some of you may know, i lived in Philly last year for Uni, and have lived in NJ for 6 years preceding that. Now i live in the Dirty South. I have a Rx bottle, that i want to fill here in Georgia from my old Dr. in NJ. I have until 11.10.11 to get the prescription filled. Thing is, i just got a prescription of almost the same thing, and something else as well, but in more quantity from a Dr i am temporarily seeing here in GA today........ I have the bottle, which states it has 1 refill before 11.10.11, but must be filled before then. I originally got the Rx somewhere in May of this year, and i never filled it the next month when i first could have (date on the bottle says 'most insurance will allow refill on or after 6.15.11). So im pretty positive that i can go to my pharmacy, tell them that i want to get it filled, and do it right? The only thing that they may find shady, is that i just got a Rx filled. But the old script is still valid...so i should be good with getting the extra Rx right? Any advice, concerns, knowledge on the matter would be appreciated. Im gonna give it a go regardless unless something SHITTY could somehow happen. Thanks
ask them to call the old pharm & have them transfer the script... I don't see why they wouldn't do it
Yeah thats what i was thinking. I mean the Rx was never filled. So i can just go in there with the bottle, they can put the Rx # in the computer and do it. Thanks for the quick response :afro:
If i have duplicate scripts or other shady sounding things, I fill one at the pharmacy I normally go to, but fill the other in a pharmacy in another town that I rarely go to except for that purpose. I don't use my insurance either for the duplicate since they won't pay for two of the same thing so close together. So present yourself to the "other" pharmacy as not having insurance.
Yep. I went to my usual place, not same location but another chain and they said they couldn't fill it b/c i had just got another script of the same thign the day before. I am going to go into another pharmacy and i suppose see how much the script is cash. Great advice man. thank you.
