Has anyone ever checked out any of Peter Max's work? I think it's stunning:

    http://www.petermax.com/

I would recommend going to "Shop", then "Posters", then "Vintage". It's amazing work.

gotta say you are deff in touch with your anger. why do you hate peter max? he is a wonderful artist of the psychadelic period of the 60's.

    ROTF!!
Thats funny since he has several styles. I would assume then that you hate the impressionists by that comment as well.

I'm sorry I lost alot of pieces that were produced commericially back in the early 70's. One was a zodiak magazine thingy.
I did shell out some dollars for some signed lithos some years back. One thats still in the tube is poster sized.I can't afford to get it matted/framed as I would like and one that came with a watercolor matting done by his studio of the zen boat.

was wondering sexych1k69er, does the banned under your name mean you've been banned here on hipforums? cause you are pretty rude as far as i'm concerned. you can always express your viewpoint in a more kind way, not so mean and angry.

okay, yes, the patriotic stuff really turns my stomach, too, but everything else is so whimsical and imaginative.

His Statue of Liberty series was done to help raise more money for the costly renovation, but yeah...he kinda got to be a sell out as so many did. So many went from hippie to yuppie values.

He was after all the artist for The Beatles "Yellow Submarine" That period of his art inspired me.

Ya i just realized he was the Yellow Submarine artist. He's pretty amazing and imaginative, but i couldn't imagine shelling out thousands for his art.

I wasn't referring to his patriotic stuff, although it was, admittedly on the link I sent. I haven't even seen it, to be honest. I generally avoid patriotism at all costs. That being said, I STILL think he's a brilliant artist, despite some of the content.

Who likes everything an artist does, especially one with several styles. Picasso would be a good example on that too. Some of his stuff I totally hate but others are so freaking amazing.

fair do's... i'm not trashing the art.. but i guess i actaully am.. beucase art is the reflection of the artists soul. and i think that his souls got twisted somehwere alng thw line... bloody patriots.. he must have been either thick...or very clever.

that is the ultimate sellout though. i thought the stars and stripes and statue of liberty were the most boring and dead art ive ever seen. it made me feel sick.

Like I said, alotta that was done to raise money for the renovations done to the statue of liberty, but yeah...we lost many souls to yuppidom.
