I'd like to hear who you all think should be Person of the Year! This could be a site member, a politician, a spiritual leader, or your BFF. Ha! Maybe there should be a special 'award' for that person... some submissions may be for the infamous, and they deserve their own 'award.' My serious vote goes to Capatin Tom ( captain Tom Moore ) who is a 100 years old . Captain Tom Moore eventually ended up raising over a whopping £32 million for the NHS. The exact figure was £32,795,065 after he received donations from across the country, including a mystery sum from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton
What you say there is so very spot on Hotwater. She brings so much joy and variety to this forum she is like a shining light, and is always the first poster I look up after signing in. How on earth she gets the time to contribute so much to these fabulous HIP Forums, I will never know. Mind you, perhaps I am biased because I have known this lovely Candy Gal for over 8 years, and she has always been the same. Thing is. No other forum has ever appreciated her, and she attracted hateful Trolls who made her forum life a misery which previous Admins never tackled. Here they have, so if there was a runner up vote, then that would go to Zen. But my ultimate vote for HIP Forums Person of the year would go to Candy Gal.
I'd have to agree. No one has been more friendly or welcoming and congruent with the ethos of this forum than @Candy Gal. @hotwater makes a great point there. I wouldn't feel the way I do about mentioning my personal life if she weren't here.
I will enjoy sharing my vote with the rest of you because it goes to an unofficial pillar in this community and it comes as no surprise to anyone who has spoken with them when they learn just how much they do for others here. Every day they sign in to find plenty of messages from loving members who adore them for their strong support. They go out of there way to cast sunshine upon everyone they bond with. It gives me great pleasure to vote for @Candy Gal!!!
