Does anyone know if there are already any (or any plans for) a community of Rainbow folks looking to live together communally? I'm talking about a permanent space for likeminded folks to come together to plan ways of living together in peace. My personal interests are universal spiritualism (no particular religion), permaculture, alternative sources of fuel and energy, and forming connections with our Native American brothers and sisters.

If anyone has any similar interests, please contact me at:
    newearthdawn@hotmail.com

    (serious only please)

Yep, I'd even go so far as to say "asap". Life is getting VERY difficult inside the mainstream for those without the proper funding. Alternatives are gonna become necessities before too long. After all these years I'm surprised Rainbow communities aren't up and running all over the place, especially the west coast. The temporary gatherings are fun, but I'd like to believe that we're about more than just having a blast.

C'mon people, it's about that time!

Have you checked out ic.org? There's intentional communities all over the west coast.

this trend and the idea of a rainbow community governed by land ownership is kind of screwed up. land ownership IS the root of all our worldly problems. sorry if i affend anyone, but, man does not have the right to own earth, the idea of owning land is just pure greed, and to me, it is NOT the way of the rainbow...

as far as getting connected with Native American brothers and sisters, dam, unlock your doors, take down your signs, crazy laws, & fences, and let them room the land freely once more...

    peace & lots of love

You know, homesteading and communal living is my passion. I'm having trouble finding a place where I know my dogs will be accepted though. A place where my dogs are not welcome, I'm not. They're family too. I'm hoping if I put it out there, the universe will be kind. It usually is.

So, if anyone is okay with some friendly critters coming along, count me in. I don't have tons of skills, but I'm a quick learner and super passionate about this.

Advaya, you're just the type of person I'm looking for! I'm in the same position, I don't have tons of skills either but I can learn fast and I'm willing to work my ass off. As for IC.org there are just too many to sift through. There are all types of communities listed on that site and many of them are not hospitable to freethinkers, that's why I created this post looking for specifically Rainbow oriented communities.

White Buffalo Organic Farm is in Paonia Colorado, and we have 25 acres of fruit trees and 5 acres of vegetables. We live in a small town, very nice. We have between 6-10 folks in the winter, to 15-30 folks in the summer.

You can call me, and come visit if you'd like, to see if you really like farming.

PM me here and i will give you my phone number.

Nice sentiments von, but land ownership is not the root of all our problems. The native americans had their share of land disputes among each other before land was "owned". The problem is the yang of human nature. There have been people out there from the beginning of time that would take what another has worked for and built for themselves.

If everyone truly cared about their fellow man ,like some in the rainbow community, maybe people could live in harmony, but even in the rainbow community there are plenty that do nothing but take and take. We all need a sense of self preservation.

So you say land can't be owned, but from the beginning of time we have claimed land and water for our own use and have banded together to form a group strong enough to defend that land from others who would take it.

While I thoroughly despise land control through government entities, and of course taxation, we are just screwed because someone will always want what you have, so property lines and the rights of land ownership are the only way to keep others from messing with your shit, and soon only your own ability to defend it may be the only thing between you and the takers.

So as far as letting others roam freely on my land...no thanks.

Edited to add: I wanted to add that in principal I agree that no one can really own the earth, so I look at myself as the temporary custodian on my land and not really it's owner.

Usually at gatherings there is 1 person working for every 10 people lounging around. By the 4th all the hard working people I know a burnt out and ready to get the kitchen rolled up and go.

I just don’t see people staying devoted long term to working to feed people lounging around trying to get in your girlfriends pants while you are cooking and cleaning up after them.

Well for those who just lounge around, maybe stricter rules should be made to regulate their behavior during these events. That's why I'm looking for folks who are committment oriented and are into hard work, just not hanging out.

HAHAHAHAHA!! Babylon works the same way. Few workers, but many who depend on them! The more you try to change things, the more they stay the same.

With that defeatist attitude, why bother to get out of bed every day?

    Rules oh no..
I wouldn’t be a Rainbow with rules like that. Hehe

I have know of a few national forest sites that were gatherings alot of the year. They seemed to work for a while until the focalizes got burned out and left and then things seem to go to hell with out some devoting a lot of focalizing and work energy.

With "rules like that"? I didn't even specify any! All I mentioned was hard work and committment. If you can't deal with that, maybe you shouldn't consider yourself a Rainbow warrior afterall...

Rasta.patch, I'm waiting on ya dude!

Who are you to propose “stricter rules should be made to regulate their behavior during these events” and who are you to say who should call themselves a “rainbow warrior”.

I don’t consider myself a “rainbow warrior” but I have been to a few gatherings and know what it is about, and you don’t have a clue.

Someone send this guy one of those rainbow 101 flyers.

And you are looking for folks?
    Do you have land?
Where are you going to lead all of these folks Great Rainbow Warrior Leader?

Earth to Pahana you are out of orbit please come back.

Hehe thanks for the morning laugh
