i have many ideas about perception....people say we are what others see us as...correct? people say the world is what we make it or how we see it....does this mean existance is based solely on wether or not we are seen or interacting with society?...i mean if no one knows you are alive does that mean technically you do not exist? what is the basis of existance? sorry if this is confusing..it is hard for me to explain what i am trying to say but if it makes sense to anyone please reply with your insight
it's almost like you think your not alive if 'others' don't see you living, but that's not the case. you've heard the question of "if a tree falls in a forest and nobody is around to hear it fall,,, does it make a sound?" ... err something like that. It's not as if a tree could fall without making a sound, but if nobody's ears are there to hear it.. how could anybody prove it? the basis of existence is where you find and see yourself , not as others see you.
We are what others see us as...to a point. That is to say, our egoic self is as others see us. We are born without an ego, that stuff is all given to us by how others treat us. Some personality traits are inborn but the stuff that makes us individuals is given to us. But of course you're alive no matter what.
I'm following Art's logic: If perception is illusion. and since you have to perceive something (5 senses, or as other byproduct of the mind) to even think about it. Then the fact that you think about God means God is an illusion. Which is true. You perceive that there's such thing as reality, or you wouldn't even think about it. Conclusion : reality is an illusion, god is real, so god is an illusion. Another subject. "Illusion" is something we perceived through some of mental tool (comparing illusion to reality), then illusion is an illusion. Conclusion: """"illusion is an illusion" is an illusion" is an illusion"... ad infinitum is true but not "perception is an illusion". Ultimate conclusion: "perception is an illusion" is illogical, so is Art Delfo. "I'd say we are more than what we or others see us as. We are what God see's us as." Illogical "We are more than what we or other see us as" is not compatible with "what God see's us as"(B). Because then you would see you as (B). =>If you agree with the last sentence, then we are what you see us as and (B) is false. =>If you disagree, then you're saying that (B) is false. This is a non-lieu : Kalashnikov is also illogical.
no no (dam I have to say more ) I mean this We all live in the universe Only we understand our deepest thoughts others can not ever see that just like we cant see all of them to one person you may be evil to another person you may be good really only you know you can you see the people on the otherside of the world? No you cant and you have never met them and so they do not exsit to you even though you know they do you just dont know them and they are nothing to you this is what I ment by "perception" as illusion that is an illusion that allows you to be only to think in your own little world or what you know and see rather then the real world which is all the universe as one. The again I was never good at logic.....:H
