i write it the correct way but minus the apostrophe. for some reason i can never bring myself insert them unless its for a paper or something where improper grammar is not an option. i just really dislike apostrophes. maybe i had experienced a traumatic event involving them in my childhood or something
I'm going to start doing this as well. Maybe we can wear special badges and call ourselves the grammar police.
I actually agree with this. While I don't care much when people misspell big words (we all do sometimes), if you cannot differentiate between there, their and they're (or your and you're), it just shows how flawed the public school systems are today. Or it shows you're not very smart. Either-or.
On a much less serious note... I never did get why some smart people still refuse to use proper grammar on the internetz, or at least some form of thereof. Most of the people who post online, just like most people in general, are dumb, lazy, and simply don't know how to write. ...but I see some smart, or at least not-dumb people on this forum who still don't use proper grammar. I guess it's just laziness, but I really don't like the "it's not academic so I won't use proper grammar" excuse. Hell, I've pretty much always used proper grammar on the internet, and it has made my writing pretty much perfect. My practice with proper grammar and spelling in my endless online posting makes it extremely easy for me to write an academic paper. I never edit my papers, never, and always get As. I simply know that there aren't any mistakes.
Ha ha, I know people that study the bachelor of creative writing and they still write their text messages like 14 year old girls. k. txt me when u get 2 the pub m8. cheers.
Well, I don't really text, I think it's gay... but I don't really blame people for texting like that... texts are more of a convenience thing than an actual conversation.
The text messaging has contributed greatly to the degradation of spelling and grammar in just a few years' time.
I don't think texting should be blamed. It's a lack of education in general. Laziness as well, and stupidity, and a transition from a literary culture to a visual-oriented culture. Reading and writing just isn't that important anymore. I don't even want to imagine what the world will be like in 20 or so years where you have a hologram of a hot nude girl reading this text off for you while giving you a virtual blowjob instead of you reading it yourself.
We should put them in concentration camps. Or just ban them from RT and only allow them to enter the chat. That sounds like a worse punishment than cyber-death.
