Why do some people appear to find pleasure in causing problems? I had an intern at work accuse me in a roundabout way of making advances. She did this intentionally to cause problems with my relationship with my coworkers. This really pisses me off. I am very close with the people I work with. I really do not understand how people can be so petty as to stir shit for others. Do they gain some kind of sick pleasure out of this behavior? I really do not understand. These accusations have driven a wedge between me and someone who means the world to me. The accusations are completely without merit. If she was a guy I would throat punch her.

Unfortunately it does seem that some people get their kicks by making another have a bad day...they should be shot!

Most people who do these kinds of things do so because they have a low self esteem and the only way they can feel good about themselves is to try to make others feel worse about themselves.

Does that mean she could possibly be training to do your job?

Ever consider it could be a plot to get your job?

Stirring the pot could also be a way of manipulating you or others into saying things/doing things.

I would be more disappointed in the people that believe it.....especially if you have a proven relationship with them already. Pick different friends maybe. As for Miss Accusation....call her out in front of everyone. Nothing like a little public humiliation to put people in their place.

Document Document Document. Talk to your HR dept, if you think it will help. It's only a matter of time before she escalates this with you or does it with someone else.

because some people find pleasure in causing problems, and aren't great at hiding it.

Take the high road. You know who you are. I also agree with Calgirl, you should be very disappointed with people you have worked well with who would believe such BS from a newcommer.

    Good Luck.
