do you think anyone really see's anything in their perception exactly the same as the next person? do you think you look different than what a photo shows and ever hear about how moods affect looks and how you come off/are perceived to others? or just anything in general

Hell, I don't even think I'm me, I don't smell, look or taste like me, my perception of me is someone else's me who died long ago..

    Peace

the way you perceive yourself in a photo is probably different than the way you look to a stranger. You don't notice the flaws and stuff in real life like you think you do.

    Hello,

this ain't an easy question. It is my believe that everyone percepts a situation differently. Just let a few persons observe a situation and then let them describe the situation. Sometimes it seems that they all describe different situations. I'm not sure about the origin of this effect. Different persons might lay attention to different things. Maybe there are other deeper reasons.

    Regards
    Gyro

i certainly know what you are speaking of gyro, in class we did that experiment with everyone picking out certain parts of the situation to write down. no one had exact things they notices written down, but they had some similar things. it really is interesting. i just feel like your perception is everything. i really think a man can turn into a tree if my brain was truly fooled and wanted it to happen... please others respond. i like thought provoking shit.

i think everyone typically perceives things differently.

but then theres times where you and another person may per chance perceive something the same exact way..."seeing eye to eye"

    Hi there.

thank you, people not often know what I'm talking about ;).

Reality is created in our brains, after the information our senses are gathering is filtered and mixed up with our experiences. Can we trust this created reality? I think so, otherwise we won't exist. But what would we 'see' if we would have a view from outside of this system?

    Regards

I think things are generally roughly the same, but vary.

yeah this is one of those things that you'll never figure out for sure. I've wondered before if a red object say would appear the same to someone else or if it would appear different. Of course you can never know for sure because as that person was very young and still developing they heard everyone else referring to objects of that color as "red". What if my red was actually their green, that would explain why people like certain colors over others. You could explain to someone who is congenitally blind all the physical properties of the object and that it reflects light of a certain wavelength, but they wouldn't be able to understand the subjective experience of seeing that color. I think we probably perceive colors as at least similarly though because some colors seem to go together. What about birds, they have I think 4 cones instead of three, and can differentiate more colors, how could you even "see" those extra colors, what would they actually look like?

The way people taste certain things are effected by DNA, which is easily proven. I don't see why it couldn't be the same for all the senses.

    Change is the only constant.

It is the nature of matter to change forms eternally.

    So what is real?

    Just stumbled upon this quote......

You really can't compare two different perspectives.

    Its a matter of perspective!
