Who cares what people think of you?

It only matters what you think of you.

I don't know how many times people have told you that already...nad you're still asking these questions.

Honestly, be yourself...and if people judge you, so what? If people look down at you, so what? It only matters that you are being true to yourself.

I seriously doubt any of that stuff was running through his mind. He was probably just looking at you because you were there. People watching or basic human interest, we look at the world around us and people especially - people are animate and unique an dall around interesting.

But DA's right, it's hard to like someone who doesn't even like himself.

You weren't born hating yourself, you're choosing it.

Believe me, I get it, I go through phases where I utterly hate who I am. But I can't and don't expect peopel to like me when I'm like that.

Ihmurria is right...no one is born hating themselves.

I don't feel sorry for you...frankly, I think you're feeling sorry for yourself. Which is also not a way to make people like you. Why don't you just start doing stuff that makes YOU happy? Screw making others happy...just make yourself happy. In the long run, people will say "Wow, he looks like such a nice person! He's always smiling and happy!" Then they'll WANT to be your friend.

Feeling sorry for yourself and being a dark, rainy cloud isn't the way to make friends or make a good impression on people.

You are creating this reality in your own mind, no body gives a crap what you look or act like. Their are tons of different type of people out there. What makes you think that people care enough about you to think this crap? People just don't get that involved with people they don't know. By the way I hang out with mom all the time. If you go around trying to think up everything someone might be thinking about you, it will lead you nowhere good.

weren't you going to see a therapist? What happened with that? You're obviously not in therapy yet...

Makes him appear extremely self-absorbed, doesn't it?

And I think he should be THANKFUL to have a mom to hang out with. Some of us don't....

No... seriously, honestly, STOP caring what people think.

Most people think I'm a "freak". I've heard all kinds of things about myself, presented as facts, that I did not know were true. I'm the girl that dresses kinda "preppy", but has a fair amount of piercings, naturally curly/fluffy hair that I usually just let go... so I pretty much look like a mess on feet. I walk around singing, smiling at little kids when they stare, saying "hi" to everyone that I pass on the street (because you just might be the only person that takes a second to even say "hi" to them that day, but it means something), opening doors for people, I skip when I'm in the mood, and when people insult me or make rude comments, I'm known to tell them that I still don't think they're an asshole/bad person for it, and usually give them better insults for next time because I get tired of hearing the same old "What, did you fall into a tackle box or something?".

And y'know what? People usually realize that I'm JUST ANOTHER PERSON. I eat, sleep and poop. I listen to music and sing really loud while I'm cleaning my house. Sometimes, I sing really loud in the shower just to make my husband and roommate laugh. I chase my dog around the house and call him stupid girly pet-names like "puppy face". I call my mom just so we can hear about each-others' days. And they realize that the only big difference between me and the rest of them is that I know what it's like, and I'm the friend that will be there when somebody just needs a hug and someone to talk to at 3AM. I'm the friend that will visit when my friends are in the hospital, and stay until the nurses kick me out. I'm the friend that will always be there to bail them out of a bad situation. Because I know what it's like to feel like the whole world hates you. I'm the "freak" that little kids aren't afraid to talk to, because I smile at them when I catch them staring. I'm the "freak" that old people giggle at because I walk around singing for no reason. I'm the "freak" that most people my own age DON'T think they'll get along with, until they realize that I'm the one that's there at 3AM when they need someone, anyone, to help them through tough times.

If people don't like you, don't give them any other options BUT to like you. It isn't that people don't like you, they probably just don't know what kind of person you are because you won't give them the chance to find out.

If all else fails, at least your mommy loves you.

So you went and seen two therapists and that's it? You won't try anymore? Sometimes you dont' find a therapist right away that you like...sometimes you have to try many before you find the right "fit" for you.

Oh, and by the way, if you don't like people judging you, it's unfair that you judged the second therapist saying that she's "big"...wow, you really need to go to therapy because that makes no sense.

No, therapy takes more than a month to determine that.

But, if there was a personality clash with "J", why not discuss that with your counselor? Simply tell him that you were uncomfortable with her, and see if he can suggest someone else for you. Now if it was just because she was "big", well, if that bothers you, which ultimately, it shouldn't because it has no effect on your therapy whatsoever, tell your counselor this as well, and see what he has to say about that. It's unfair to judge that woman simply for being "big". You yourself say that you feel judged. Treat others the way YOU wish to be treated. She could be the best dang counselor you could ever have. You never know.

Sweetie, I think you need to give it another chance before calling it quits.

Don't you think maybe she was smiling because she LIKES you? Maybe she was trying to be nice? Instead of taking a SMILE as an insult (which is NOT an insult...it's the universal HAPPY language), why didn't you just smile back...then maybe you could have struck up a conversation...then you could see maybe she was NICE! Why don't you stop being a hypocrite and stop judging people! You do'nt want to be judged, so stop doing it to others!

    Again, you're judging people...

Who cares if you're popular? I'm not popular at school. But you know what? Whatever. I'm pretty happy with myself...I'm pleasant to those who are pleasant with me...otherwise, I go about my business and I don't notice when others are staring at me or whispering or whatever they do...HELL, I had rumors going around last semester that I was a lesbian. You know what you have to do? Laugh at it...because seriously, if people are being jerks, you just have to feel sorry for them that they have nothing else to do with their lives than meddle in others' business.

Go back to therapy. You seriously need it...because I don't think you quite get what we are saying.
