How can you people live with yourselves. Keeping animals as pets. Forcing them to live their lives around you. They were born wild in the beginning and should be left that way. And for the ones that work at fish stores, that is an insult to fish, being forced to swim around in circles in a small bowl their whole lives. And you enviromental terrorist who go walking all over Yellowstone and other National Parks for "your pleasure"; think of mother nature, think of all the damage your foot print leaves behind everytime you take a step. Killing millions of organisms with every step.

And to you filthy women who think they have to bath...just think of all those poor fish who smelled really nice until Eve decided she needed to bath...and you just keep carrying on this horrible tradition.

And to that HippyHillbillie thats keeping goats and calves in captive and forcing them to drink milk for another living creature, how rude.

    You all disgust me!!!!

My pets are spoiled animals who do nothing throughout the day except sleep, receive attention, and mosey on over to their food dishes. The only problem we have is that one cat seems to believe the world revolves around her.

Sometimes I feel the same way, but, if animals wander around, they'll get picked up by animal control and if they aren't adopted out then they will be euthenized. Blame the system not us. I wish all animals could run free, but they can't because of certain laws.

    It's a sticky situation...

You're funny, tell me, do you troll much? :p

But apart from that, when it comes to pets, it happens my two cats both adopted me instead of the other way around. Cats are cool that way... one was my housemate's cat and started to hang out in my room all the time, the other was a stray who showed up at my place of work and chose the food & company over continued freedom. They still go out -fortunately I live on a real quiet road- and it's quite clear what they like best. Silvie loves to play outside, she catches mice sometimes which she could eat if she wanted to but she prefers cat food, and she could stay out as long as she likes but she always comes in after a while. Zeerox is older and wouldn't make it on his own, fortunately he's smart enough not to try... I rarely if ever call them in. Cats are the best pets really, I love their independence. They can show a lot of affection and still remain independent enough to make it clear that while you're buying their food, they aren't 'yours'; they just live with you.

If my cat was not living with me, he'd be living in a crowded apartment with 40 other cats and no personal attention. If he wasn't living there, he'd be living on the street, but not for long because animal control would have him put to sleep within a day or so. Even if a domestic cat could live in nature, I doubt he'd be leading a life as sweet as the one he's leading now. Sleep, play, cuddle, sleep, chase squirrels outside, sleep... I'd trade places with him any time.

You're an idiot, the common pet (cats and dogs) are domesticated through evolution

    wow....

i am pretty damn sure none of my pets have been "Forced to live their lives around me." I believe in the saying, if you love something set it free, if it comes back to you it is yours, if it doesnt... It never was.. and all of my pets are very attached to me as I to them. I set them loose, they dont even leave ten feet before running back to me.

I work at a petstore, and i dont force fish to swim around in little bowls.... Also the fish that I work with are captive bred, not ripped from the wild then sold...

About enviromental terrorist issue... that is bullshit. you sont walk? do you float aruond from point A to B?? I doubt it...

lol. Trolls amuse me with their stupidity.

You ever notice how a stray dog that has been a stray for atleast a couple of weeks is too thin...fur matted and/or patched....dirty....wounded....I wonder why??? Maybe it's because dogs are domesticated animals. Hmmm. But I guess we should just set them free anyways, right? Sounds to me like our troll is a member of PETA. One of their beliefs is setting animals wild. Stupid...really stupid.

If it were just as simple as levitating. Just by typing this I'm probably killing thousands of micro organisms that are on my fingers and on or under the keys. Of cource at the same time I'm breathing loads in that are then dying a horrible death as they are trapped in mucous, and in some cases consumed. I mean just living is killing all these organisms. The problem is though, if I do the honerable think and kill myself, all the poor organisms that rely on a symbiotic or even parasitic relationship with me to live will die aswell. Its a no win situation.

Anyone who thinks that a well looked after pet is not happy and should be released doesn't know animals at all, and really doesn't have any respect for them. It might not be the perfect life, but what animal leads a perfect life. They don't have to hunt to get food to survive, they don't even have to get up at some rediculously early time in the morning for a stressful day at work to be able to earn money to get food to survive, since some mug does that on their behalf, and asks very little in return. The lack of near constant threat from enemies, of either the predatorial type, or of compeating animals, is a nice bonus. The fact that they don't have to read stupid posts like that must count for something aswell.

My animals love me, they love living with me and I would protect them with my life. I guess we should let our children run free in the street too?

To the person with the rabbits. Take your rabbits to the vets asshole. Then give the rabbits to someone who will care for them. You shouldn't have allowed the dog and rabbits to be together if they didn't get along!

Yes, definately an idiot. Breeding has created many, many domesticated animals, all of which would have no chance at all fo survival in the wild, and even if they COULD be added to the wild, they would descimate the ecosystem they were put into, just look at what feral domestic cats did to Australia.
Your words are those of someone who obviously hasn't thought much about throwing about abuse before throwing it. Tut tut. Bad karma upon you.
