Pennies-what to do?

At my current job, there is a large fountain that is regularily filled with coins.

every morning, maintenence drains and cleans it, keeping any coins 5c or greater. this means that most of the crap they clean off is pennies.

however, who wants pennies? so they are discarded into 6 gallon containers and essentially forgotten in an old back room. (in fact, i think now its all put into a newer room)

so im left with a room filled with about 30 gallons worth of pennies, and based upon my current counting estimates, that is easily 1000$-2000$ in those bins of coins and dirt.

Unfortunately, pennies are large and heavy so taking mass amounts with me can be somewhat difficult and limited. So far i have collected 47$ worth in 2 days.

my question: besides obviously rolling them for the bank, any other ideas on profiting from pennies? or just plain having fun with thousands of em?

 

superglue them to your body? stick them up your nose? buy a stick of gum? quit being stupid?

bring a bag 2 work and pour the coins in the bag and at te end of the day just leave and akt like u didnt do anything.

 

At the grocery store here there is a machine that counts them for you and prints off a slip that you give to the cashier and she gives you money. (it takes 10% off though)

 

well if there is any smart way you can actually walk out there with $2,000 worth. id do it.

well... DUH.

 

Probably not the best idea... I mean, is it really worth it.. all that time and effort for 1000$ that you might not get if you get caught.

Actually.. what happens when there's no more pennies? questions are gonna be asked.

 

first, get it outta there, then turn it into paper money (theres a magic money rolling fairy, comes around on wednesdays) and then decide if you want to donate it back. well, part of it.
where does the the other money go to? If you make the effort and give 25-50% of the money, you're still making a lot of money, and they didn't have to do it themselves. you get in less trouble if you give back, you know?

 

Just use coinstar, who cares if it takes %10 it's free money.

Unless you'd rather spend days rolling them all.

You can actually go into some banks (Commerce for me) and trade them for bills for free. Its a free Coinstar pretty much.

 

don't take them all at once, just take like maybe 50 dollars worth at a time. if all of a sudden they all disappeared, like mother's love said, people will ask questions. just buy weed with it

you could probably get a parking ticket and then pay it in pennies
