Hello! I have a friend who has a dog that does a couple of neat things. If someone has had one to many beers at my buddy’s house and they are walking home he will send his dog Penelope with them. If the person starts getting to close to the highway Penelope will start nudging them over to the shoulder. Usually the person will move over to the shoulder of the road but if they don’t - Penelope will start making it clear that she wants them off the road. Once she gets the person safely home and the person goes inside Penelope will ripe their garbage bags apart – have a feast then head on home. What I think is pretty cool is she wasn’t trained to get a person safely home – she just does it. The second neat thing Penelope does is – if you through a rock in the creek she will dive under water (about 6 feet) and retrieve it. What I find amazing is by the time she runs down the bank and into the water the rock has already hit bottom. Dogs aren’t supposed to be able to smell under water and all the rocks in the creek kind of look the same so were not sure how she picks it out. We figure she might follow the bubbles that the rock makes as it falls to the bottom. Anyway that’s my rave about Penelope the Pit bull.
My husband's parents have a 5 year old yellow lab that dives in the water for rocks, too! And he just loves making bubbles, so he's constantly sticking his nose in the water and snorting/grunting to blow water everywhere, he's hilarious.
