Anyone a fan? I love this show, Mitchell and Webb make a great team, true comic geniuses who, I think, are up there in the league of Fry and Laurie. They also met at Cambridge. I like the format of Peep Show, always seeing things through the eyes of one character in the room, and hearing their thoughts. Mitchell especially is good at the monologue of the sad bastard. I love the way they aren't afraid to be controversial, and will happily show a scene with someone blacking up, both denouncing racism in popular culture and giving hyper political correctness a shot across the bow. And the character of Superhands is hilarious... "Don't worry, Superhands is on the crack today." "Mmm, this crack's a bit moreish..."
Love it; it's a really brilliant concept and very funny. The sad git internal monologue is just genius, it sums up exactly what it's lke to be a talentless loser who can't get a girlfriend ... not that I would know of course! Mitchell and Webb didn't actually write Peep Show as far as I'm aware; I do like their comedy, listened to their Radio 4 show a few times, but I don't think it compares to Peep Show for originality
Have you seen the new 'That Mitchell and Webb Look?' It doesn't compare to Peep Show for its originality, but as a sketch show it is very funny....
They are both amazing shows and oh so different! I particularly love Peep Show for its camera work!! And the one liners are amazing!!! I love the tall guys (can't remember his name) in 'Smoking Room'! TOP CLASS!
Although it's insane to compare these two to the genius of Fry and Laurie, i do like them. I never really saw that many Peep Shows, but what i saw i liked, even if i didn't find it particularly laugh-out-loud funny, and the one with the Hitler haircut is always very funny on panel shows. Caught bits of the first Mitchell and Webb Show and quite liked it, but i've not seen anything else yet, so i'll reserve my judgement.
Saw my first one this evening, it's very good stuff It's the same as their Radio4 show pretty much, but translates well to TV. I always thought "Numberwang" was a bit of a stroke of genius
Watched it properly the other night, dear God it was awful..! Full of "will this do?" humour, i did not laugh. Disappointing.
I've recently got into Peep Show... Good stuff! Superhands is hilarious... "Johnson is coming! Johnson is coming!"
Haha, well I think there's a little of Mark Corrigan in everyone... I just happen to have a bit more than most
Sometimes when something or someone is pissing me off, I tend to slag it off in my head, and the voice in which I'm slagging it off turns out to be Mark's....
