Funny story.Back in the late sixties my Mum was doing some au pair work in London for an American family. The kids asked her for a "peanut butter and jelly sandwich." My Mum didn't have a clue what this was say so she made up some "jelly" what you call "jello' and put it in with the peanut butter. In England we call "jelly" "jam".

Here jam has chunks of fruit in it and jelly is clear with the fruit chunks strained out.

My grandmother used to set us up to be criminals, thieves,,,
She'd tell us to go steal as many crab apples from peep's yards as we could and she make us crab apple jam. She didn't know what she made us go through for that jam but we did it, climbing over fences, up trees, having old me and dogs chasing us out of yards,,, oh man that jam was soooo good!
