Last year I went to the first festival I’ve been to in a number of years – Coalessence in Arkansas. I think the promoter wanted more people, but from my perspective, it was a very good scene with a peaceful & hip vibe – not the yee-haw beer-drinking of a lot of Texas music scenes. Shpongle was there, other kinds of music on several stages, lots of nice people camping, BB had a booth and the camp sites were good too.

I want to go to at least a couple of festivals this year. I’ve looked at http://www.jambase.com/festivals/, and Wakarusa in Arkansas looks good (I saw it discussed in another thread) but it looks to me like jambase is missing some smaller festivals. I’ll probably go to Coalessence (in Austin this Oct) and maybe Rainbow.

Does anyone know of good, peaceful festivals in Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma or NM? Or sources of information?

    Thank you a lot
