Can anybody tell me where I can get patterns to sew for patchwork dresses and skirts? I have no idea where to look, and I want to start making my own because it's so expensive to keep buying patchwork clothes. Thanks, magicpeacefrawgg
There is a great book by Elise Clark called Patchwork Expressions: Basic Designs In Clothing . It has everything you need to get started including patterns in the back of the book. You can get it from her website or from EBay. There is also a great pants tutorial here: http://www.angelfire.com/stars2/SunshinesCreations/clothingdemo.html There is an email group called hippiesew on Yahoo. They are a great group of gals and guys. Very helpful. There are all kinds of links in thier link section and tutorials in the database.
I think I have only seen 2 demos on the internet and the one listed above is one of them. To me... I think patchwork is an experience thing. I start makign small poutches, then just doing patches up the sides of small pants and then finally ventured into making pants from scratch. If you know anybody who sews get together with them and they can surely help you out the most. Its definatly worth figuring out how to make them rather than buying a $60 pair of patchwork pants
