I got fed up with getting credit card junk mail and all that other excrement that comes in the mail. So, once or twice a week I sit down with it all shred the contents put it in the return envelope and send it back. I, also mark through the upc on the envelope, it cost them even more. I may start trying to find a free way to increase the weight to over an oz, that cost more too. Before the civil war the slaves on plantations practiced passive resistence. If the owner bought 10 shovels then 10 would just happen to break in use. They practiced delay techniques like playing stupid and having to be told over and over how to do something. You see I did the March on Washington and local protest in my day and still do some work with the local AFL-CIO and Move-On but we have to find ways to clog up the machinery. Do you have any ideas that can work that will just mess up things and cost the evil controlling 1% money and power? I hate the great satan walmart. When I do go I carry a marker or even pick up one in the office supply section. I never take it out of the store. What I do is I put a little line in the upc and the cashier has to imput the code. This takes time and slows down their profit. I know you say ''what about the poor clerk?'' They get paid the same and it gives them a little break and you a chance to talk and cut up with them. Also, you can insert a little info on the need to unionize. If you want to screw with the post office but a marble in a letter. A postman gave me that one. I thought a lead weight might be fun or a real powerful magnet that would mess with the hardware and software. Dr Razzu
the post office is fucked, the high-paid do-nothing jobs are safe while the workers get pressured into early retirement and those that remain are being overworked plus, corporations have way too much say in the setting of rates and regulations - to their own advantage, natch as to the benefit? probably none . . .
I just threw in the suggestion. Personally, after much international travel I appreciate the USPS. It is the cheapest I have seen and I find it faster and more reliable than UPS and FedEx.
that's because it's still half-public, despite the best efforts of various idiots to privatize it it used to be a hell of a lot better, when it was more public . . .
