Hello! I was curious as to the policy on posting a message asking people to fill out a survey for educational purposes? Please let me know, thanks!
If that's all you're here for then I would consider it spam http://www.hipforums.com/forumguidelines.htm
Actually we do allow researchers to post up info about their studies and a link to it. I see no harm in ppl participating. But I do like to know what the study is for. I have turned a few down because I didn't like what they were trying to prove. You know like whether stoners make good parents or shit like that... So please don't automatically delete a study unless they post it up numerous times...
maybe there should be a section just for that Im pretty sure I deleted a few intros because they were just links like what he is asking
Yeah then I get an email from them asking why their study was deleted and can they please post it again....
and if there was a section for those kinda posts.....I would have just moved them there I delete mosts intros that are just links when the person doesn't even bother to introduce themselves and just introduces their own forum or myspace or "hey...do my survey"
i dont mind doing studies and surveys, but generally i only do them for people i've seen around, regulars if you will. i just cant trust someone i dont know at all. a separate forum just for surveys could be good, for when people are bored to have them in one spot (it works in other interwebby places); on the other hand it could lead to "this belongs in the survey room" which would probably prevent those we are familiar with from getting to those who will answer.
I see a "hip polls" sections....maybe it should renamed "hip polls and surveys" and we could just move survey type threads there. and yes about the regulars..I hardly ever click on links posted by people who just joined or have only 2 posts
I was responding to a message sent some time ago from other members about the study and what it entailed.
