A couple of girls have straight bangs and dreads in the back. I remember one dude saying he had sort of a 50/50 mix of dreads and regular hair. Anyone who goes natural will have a beautiful mix for quite a while
i've heard of people making 1 or 2 locks and leavin the normal hair. i was contemplating doing that for a while. while i was still finger combing my hair, if i missed a spot during the morning i would end up with something like a lock by the end of the day. i have a buddy (with a full head of locks now) just have a couple of locks form under his hair and he was pretty thrown about it. it was cool.
This was quite popular in Europe last summer when I was there. Guys would have short chopped-up hair in the front, and long dreads in the back. Not as much dread-mullet as much as Jedi looking...
My hair was like this many, many moons ago. It was fun for a bit, but after awhile I grew impatient with having to constantly prevent the rest of my hair from dreading. Became a bit high maintenance. Also, I didn't realize how much the dreads would SHRINK as compared to the rest of my hair... the short/long contrast wasn't to my liking. Anyway... try for yourself if you're interested. If you grow bored or annoyed with them you could either comb out or let the rest of your hair dread. At the time, I combed them out because I was still dig'n my regular hair. Years later, I let my whole head dread.
I'm loving the stage of my hair right now. I started the process by sectioning it and when my (and a couple of my friend's) hands got tired we stopped and now I'm left with like 6-7 sections that were completely untouched and naturally dreading so I get to see what it's like to have naturally dreading hair and dreads that were backcombed.
Yes. I have little biddy dreadies in both the back and the front of my head where the babysoft hairs are. And sprouting up are the dreads that are just...happening on their own time. At first it used to bother me but now I'm cool with it. It's like I'm running a greenhouse on my own head watching the process unfold
Yeah! My hair is in all sorts of different stages at the moment. I have a bunch of mature dreads on top and underneath there's loose hair and baby dreads. Plus some in the front that's all silky and I don't think will ever dread.
Glad yall understood what i ment. I just dont think i really like the idea of a whole head of dreads so i was kinda thinking up the way johnny depp hair is in the pirates of the caribbean just not as messy.
