I agree. If you are that much of a spy, you'll probably just be driving your kids away. Theres a difference between being a good parent and being obsessive. What if one of the kids really gets in some trouble, and doesn't think they can trust their parents to tell? I'm sure you're right about raising kids being tough, but that's no reason to be crazy.
Key word there is need. If you do it out of desperation, than you are doing something wrong, I agree, but I'm a firm believer that children have very minimal rights to privacy.
Well, you already admit to it. I was just citing that as the reason for your warped views, so no one would read your posts and think it was your fault.
Haha! My mom would read my diary, photo copy certain pages, read letters from my friends, etc..... It didn't make me too happy. I can't stand snoops.
I don't think my mom ever bothered to snoop on me That's what I get for being better behaved than she is (and I don't just mean when she was my age)
My mom was really weird. Her reason for reading my stuff was that I was past curfew by a half hour ONE TIME.... and I was seventeen and my curfew was 10 pm. Seriously. WTF.
I lust for Let Li. But yeah. I don't snoop through my kids stuff. Though they are only 7 and 3. My mom never did either. I don't think...I was never TOO bad as a teen. I snuck out once, smoke cigs and pot-but then so did my parents. I also did awesome in school-I think that's why they left me alone.
You just made my buddy list. Kinda surprised you werent there already. Probably an oversight. I'm sure you're kids will grow up fine. Just try to talk 'em out of smoking before they realise how cool it looks.
