Painkillers! Vicodin

I started taking them a while ago, but today I feel nausea and dizzy. I think my body has gotten use to them.

Do anyone has these side effects.

 

One of my friends (female) got nauseaus on them as well. I have taken them but have never felt that. Idk what determines how you feel on them

Be careful of how much tylenol your taking; it'll kill your liver. You shouldn't take more than 4,000mg/24 hrs. The amount of tylenol in each pill is the larger # after the 'Hydrocodone" on the label. And I'm assuming you already know not to drink while on them. Are you taking these for pain or to get high? If you're having issues talk to your doc.

No. Vicodin is made up of synthetic codeine and tylenol. It's the synthetic codeine that gets you high/makes you feel weird. It's a popular prescription to abuse, which is why I was asking. If you're taking it for pain though I wouldn't worry about addiction, unless you have a history of substance abuse.

 

they are addicting very much, first comes vics then oxys/morphine, then herion.

 

If only vicodin did not have tylenol in it..and those do sound like fairly normal side effects.

 

I'm not saying addiction is impossible, I'm saying that despite what the media sensationalizes, statistically speaking, less than 1% of people on opioid pain meds will get addicted--even if you use them for 6 months (learned this in nursing school). As long as you take them as prescribed, you probably will be fine. A LOT of people are going to have to use pain meds at some point in their lives, so that 1% adds up to a lot of people. But it's still only a small percentage of people when you look at the larger picture.

This misconception that everyone who takes pain meds is going to get addicted is preventing a lot of people from properly controlling their pain in the acute stage, which can then lead to chronic pain. I'm a nursing student and I've had little old ladies scared of taking percocet after they just had a freaking hip replacement because they think they're going to be addicted from taking it a few days. It affects their recovery too; you're not going to effectively participate in physical therapy if you're in pain.

Not sure if the hydrocodone is semi-synthetic or just synthetic. But either way, it's not codeine. It's considerably stronger.

OP, I know I've seen you telling people to not take drugs, as it relates to pot or psychedelics, and now I see you taking opiates....... What the fuck? These are some of the most dangerous drugs that exist.

 

Hydrocodone is the synthetic opiate I was talking about--and yes, it is considerably stronger than actual codeine. It's sometimes known as synthetic codeine because it is derived from codeine. Hence the codeine/codone sound-alike. In the same way, hydromorphone (dilaudid) is a synthetic derived from morphine.

And, the OP may be taking them legitimately; we don't know her reasons. I wouldn't jump to conclusions.

 

I've already landed on those conclusions, OP doesn't like weed or "drugs", but puts vicodin under Hip Forums>Alternative Lifestyles>Health. We have a whole opiate forum dedicated to these drugs, but she doesn't even think of it as a "drug" and doesn't even think of the drug sections. That's woeful ignorance of what's going in her body, and of the safer, more effective alternatives.

Also: semi-synthetic. I've NEVER heard hydrocodone refered to as anything but hydrocodone, or a brand name. It is NOT synthetic codeine, it's a semi-synthetic BASED on codeine. Maybe this "synthetic codeine" phrase was used in training with less than chemistry savvy students to describe how hydrocodone is made, but that's just not what it is.
