Oh and yeah we have internet access. The computers in the front seat of a 31 foot RV and it takes a little getting used to, but we manage. Peace, Love, and happy wanderings
Ahh, the Ozark Gathering...Last year I met my partner there. We were married May 21 (a couple weeks after the ozark gathering) and again on July 4 at Nationals. The year before that some good close family of mine met at the ozarks gathering and just had a baby at the Quebec gathering in August. I am sad I cant make it this year. Josh and Carisa are the couple with the baby. If you see them, tell them Chris says I love you. And please help out...last year there was mass confusion because it didnt seem like local family showed up until after the gathering started and we didnt have a main circle until the first day of the gathering, and with the exception of a good soup that MamaWanda made, and the OZ kitchen, there were 4 of us overworked in the kitchen. Good news is we did the whole gathering (kitchen) at least, without a magic hat. All food was donated or dumpster-dived, and so the work participation wasnt there like other regionals, but everyone had a good time and those that worked extra hard were grateful for the chance to contribute to the family, so it all worked out. Ok, one last word on that, a story that our brother Russelle told when people complained that so many were being lazy. He told the story of the kid whop showed up to the gathering and said nothing but just held his pipe out for people to fill, and when they filled it he smoked it all to himself. he kept doing this, and someone asked him, what's up? It turns out his mother and father had just been killed in a car crash. So think twice before accussing people of being drainbows. Good rule at a gathering; make an effort to connect with the person you find most challengeing, the person who you at first decide you want nothing to do with...you'll be surprised.
Words of wisdom. Harder to do sometimes than you might think, but you'd be suprised at what you might find when you scrape off the bullshit and find the beautiful soul underneath. Peace
Ozark Rainbow Counsel Notes - On the land May 7th, 2005 About thirty or so folks where in circle on a beautiful day deep in the heart of the Ozarks sharing kind vibrations, wise words and some delicious food to nourish the body. The feather was passed and introductions where given. Topics of interest where the dates for the Ozark Spring Regional. It was suggested that in the future the dates be refocused to June 1 so that more kids that are in school could attend. A later date would also ensure that the recreational waters would be warmer as would the overall nighttime temperatures in the Ozarks. The location for the 2005 Spring Regional was condensed to be at Cook Springs: Ozark Rainbow Spring Regional Gathering May 13th - 20th, 2005 //// Come Early * Stay Late Cook Springs near Centerville Missouri http://welcomehere.org/states/Missouri/ Magic Bowl Kitchen will be serving seed camp with other kitchens on their way throughout the week. Oz Kitchen and portions of The Peace Conspiracy kitchen will be on site by Saturday May 14th to relieve the seed camp kitchen and Bungalo Kitchen Crew will run support and have already built a sweatlodge for relaxation and Spiritual purposes. Logistics are being worked out for a water filter setup to tap one of the main springs and it was requested that one of the Katadyne Expedition filters be brought to the Ozark Regional Spring Gathering for family use throughout the gathering. Current steward of the family filters were not in counsel so every effort is being made to contact them. Folks are waiting on CALM to arrive so please be safe coming into the gathering and also along the trail. Beware of LEO activity on the roads coming into the gathering and know your rights. Be legal and be safe, carpool if you can. http://rainbowguide.info/Raps/RAPeng.php Location is some what level, handi-accessible and plenty of room for buses and parking. Site is along the Black River which is spring fed and has recreational waters. Family friendly, bring the whole tribe. Much support was expressed for the (A) Gathering of the Tribes which will be held in the southern portion of the Ozarks at Rippee Access July 1 - 7th, 2005. While the circle recognize that this tribal gathering may not be everyone's personal heartsong it was acknowledged that a large number of people want this gathering and since it has been to many counsels since the Spring Regional 2004 this vision received the blessing of the circle by passing the feather in silence. Those interested in this vision are encouraged to plug in to the energy with the best of intentions and share in unity with the Annual Gathering on the east coast by observing silence on the morning of the 4th. http://welcomehere.org/states/Missouri/ Family coming to either of these gatherings are encouraged to bring food to share with the kitchens, help keep the area clean by packing out trash and to respect the springs, waterways and wild critters by not disturbing them unnecessarily. Latrines, composts, and gray water areas should be marked and soap should be used properly. Other topics discussed in counsel circle were numerous. The overall mood was vibrant and the energy was high. Many folks already on site and the Ozark Spring Regional 2005 is now underway. If you need more information, directions or help getting to the gathering feel free to call one of the Missouri Liteline numbers for assistance. WELCOME HOME!!!! Man, the one year that I decide to leave for the summer is the same summer I learn about rainbow gatherings in MY neck of the woods *cries*
Bump* Singing and cooking and swimming and hugging and parking and Shante Sena and kiddies and bliss and dumpster diving!
Yes, it is what it sounds like; getting food from a dumpster. Check Bobbin Becca's post in member announcements for their experience at the regional
Ummmm...Does that mean that those of us going to the Annual Gathering of the Tribes of the Rainbow Family of Living Light, which will be in West Virginia, BTW, are on the (B) list? I guess I'm happy with that...
