Owl came up near my window, in a tree, first he hooted then made some very strange expression that I've never heard before... I suspect it's because of the music I play in my room. The window is broken and the frequencies leak. amazing creatures.

owls map out the area with there ears not with there eyes so he probably thought you were food they can pinpoint places perfectly with there hearing and there are very silent flyers people wish to try and make there air crafts fly like an owl
yea, they think your field mice or something. its a great way too see them though. i dont think they mind too much.
This reminded me of a dream I had maybe more than a year ago but I remember it clearly. I was in a valley with lots of beautiful green grass and in the distance were snow topped mountains. It was sunny and the sky had only a few clouds in it. There was a game going on that reminded me of rugby and many people I knew were playing. I was looking down at the grass and I saw that I was being overtaken by a very large shadow. I looked straight up and saw a white owl that had some flecks of black in it's feathers. It was as big as a small planet! It had that stern owl expression as it looked down into the valley. It's eyes were huge and yellow with large black pupils. When it flew over we made eye contact and I saw it's pupils shrink and then enlarge a little as it focused in on me. I was scared because there was no place to take cover. It was very vivid and very cool.
If I had to guess I would say it is the spider. It has always been a part of my life, my dreams, my art and I share my home with all kinds of spiders and tarantulas. Once in awhile I will see a kind of squiggly, smoke in the distinct shape of a spider move across my ceiling as I am waking up. Happens every 6 months or so. possibly a hallucination caused by having spiders on the mind so much. Maybe the raven as well but I'm not positive on this. I find myself encountering them often in the last 3 years but they are also very common. As for the owl, I was briefly obsessed with them after the dream but they are a majestic animal that anyone can be captivated by. Perhaps the owl was just beginning to reveal itself to me. Maybe it was just a dream. It will sort itself out in time but I won't make any hasty assumptions.
I've got a true story about owls: on 8/8/2000, around 2:30am I was "sneaking" into my backyard to spy on some owls that had been visiting (I promise this is true) and sitting on old swing sets in my back yard. As I opened the back-yard gate and stepped onto the sidewalk there, I stepped onto a baby copperhead. I was struck/bit 2x b4 I realized wth was happening. I looked down, standing on the snake w/ flip-flips on, and was bit 2x more b4 the snake wiggled on off to safety! I drove myself to the hospital and got my mom to pick me up the next morning. After coming home, as I was heading downstairs to recover from this, I looked up and Directly Over the place where I was bitten was A big old owl. I'm ashamed to say that with my foot the size of a football and hurting like Fire, I was quite angry and Yelled at the owl and asked this magnificent bird wth he was and why didn't he Get that snake?! We didn't see any owls again until this year - and I think it is the owls that got 2 of my beloved cats - both mama cats with babies that disappared within 6 mons of each other. I went out the other day and announced (Aloud) that I was sorry to the owls and to Please not take any more of my cats since there are Lots of other wildlife around. Any thoughts?
A large white owl perched on a limb over my head, hooted a bit, watched me make espresso, then flew off. In the middle of the night I was awakened by a crash and a clatter. I rushed outside just in time to see the owl disappear into the darkness with the shiny white coffee bag clutched in its talons.
I think that the owl may have been waiting for the right moment to snatch the snake that bit you. Being right over the snake like that it sounds like the owl was stalking it. The snake may have also been aware of the owls presence and remained still until you entered the scene. The snake probably owes you its life but baby copperheads are very snappy and you won't find any gratitude there.
One moral I definitely carried from that experience: If you Stand on a snake, it's gonna Bite you..at least until you get off. Plus, the "bite" itself is so quick, it was like 2 Quick Fast, but distinct little stings. Living in the country, I felt it, but not being a whiny baby didn't even Look down until after the 2nd bite. Wow - a Surreal moment That was. Then I watch 2x more! wth... I also understand why snake venom is drunk, or the snake allowed/encouraged to bite when one is to go on a vision quest - or so I've heard. But the Owl over the place was like Hours, and in daylight - around 9:00 am - later. Maybe that's why - to tell me my dumbass was standing on part of his supper? and I was angry at Him! Makes sense. Thanks. Now that I've apologized, hopefully they'll leave my cats alone, for I've always found owls to be wise, splendid creatures.
I found this one with a broken wing. I knew a cat or hawk would get it so I took it home and set it's wing. It was very quiet and observant the first few days but after it seemed to decide I was okay, it became more vocal. Never imitated english but Poe could get his point across. He has been released so I can't say he is mine. More like an aquaintance.
like a special friendship from nature? Do you remember the talking raven on "Little House on the Prairie"? I forget which character had it, but it (Sorta) lived w/ one of the characters...that show always left me w/ tears. I know, what a wuss... But I never forgot the talking raven either, how fine he was.
"I heard the owl call my name ..." I don't think i ever actually read it but the title has been with me since childhood.
