Ok I know this is gonna sound kinda stupid but I just got like 16 gauges and they hurt like shit. Well, they don't hurt if I don't touch them. So, I guess I shouldn't touch them :)

Where are the 16G piercings at, if you don't mind my asking. That has a LOT to do with any pain, tenderness, or swelling related issues. 16G in eyebrows are generally fine, but a 16G in an ear may hurt some more than others. Also, 16G rings being as slim as they are, are prone to rejection/migration in certain parts of the body. Migration and rejection (the moving of the ring through the skin by force of the body to 'expel' it. Like that of a splinter) can occur with smaller gauge rings in areas like the nipples, genitals, and bellybutton. Whereas 14G rings in these areas are often less prone to such happenings.

    So, where's your piercing? :)
