suggestions? i am thinkin of tryin it in my backyard, on the side of my garage. one neighbor cant see it and the other is cool with my mom and knows i(and the people on the other side of her) toke... so that probably won't be a problem. but it IS possible to see it from the street, it will probably be a good 30-45ish feet away from the street, but should i plant some bushes or something to hide it? also, gecko, tie dye, and mg if you have any advice for an outdoor grower in virginia, or anyone, it'd be appreciated.
if your moms okay with it, just make sure you keep it out of view from nosy neighbors who would nark, and keep it out of view from the street. it is pretty late in the season so it wont get too big, but just to be safe you should put some bushes around it for hiding. just make you leave enough room on all sides so that it always gets sunlight during the day, and water it often
I dont have much time to type a bunch of stuff.. But I can tell you one thing.. real quick.. You need to get the plants out ASAP!! They will flower small which is actually a better choice due to limited planting options.. Make sure your spot is safe.. Try to water late at night.. Dont make a trail to your spot.. Make sure they atleast get 4-5 hours of DIRECT sunlight.. whoops.. should have read the post all the way through =P
ok i am getting them out there asap, started germinating tonight... i dont even know how far apart to plant them, i could really use some tips for outdoor growing
right now mine are planted about an inch apart, its easier to water them that way. when they get bigger I am going to replant them farther apart and in a different area, so they are harder to be seen. I donno if you have the option to put them somewhere to hide, but i think its easy for a first time grower to do what I first said
WOAH!! They need to be planted atleast a foot apart.. It would be hard and hurtful to seperate after root development..
\ oops oh well ya live and you learn, guess Ill just keep them where they are then. thanks for the info for next year
someone mentioned something about not getting big buds, could i move them indoors before the first frost? should i fertilize and when? how often do i water? how much sunlight will be enough for them??? i'm a real newbie to growing. all advice is welcome.
i am also a newbie to growing this summer from what I heard most any type of fertilizer makes your weed taste like shit, i personally dont use any kind of fertilizer. definately dont use miracle grow, ive smoked weed that my friend had grown himself and used miracle grow on and man that shit was nasty I water whenever I see that the dirt my plants are in is dry my plants are out all day so they get as much sunlight as possible, and they are growing quickly about moving indoors, that is not an option for me as my parents are very anti drug, but if your parents are cool with it then do it. just make sure you take care of them when they are inside
No, moving them outdoors from inside is the tricky one. if you bring them in it's ok. Get good soil, like some foxfarm ocean forest, if your bring them in especially.I have lost so many outdoor plants id say indoors is probly best, unless they are unseen, and in your yard with a dog. get a good grow book- it will teach you all the basics, and help you to understand the plants chemistry better. Which means you will grow better pot.
why buy a book when i have the web??? should i dig up a nice hole, and fill it with the soil you suggested? i doubt i would lose this plants outdoors, not very much wildlife around these parts. or should i just stick with indoors the whole way through, with some fluros??
keep them indoors if you can! in my opinion it's too late to start outdoor growing because the plants need to flower for 8 to 10 weeks and the chances of terrible weather are getting huge by then... would hate to see everything wasted because of mould or budrot
even outdoors it is best to use a five gallon nursery pot, dig a hole for the pot it will keep gophers out, and you can move it back indoor when it starts raining. it is going to cost you lots of money growing indoor, that is a definite concern. i read four or five growbooks by the age of 15, i still read growbooks, the internet is a leader in misinformation. if you read a couple good books you will recognise when someone online is full of shit or telling you a good method. and you wont have to wait days for someone to give you an answer.
yeah the "marijuana growers guide" from Mel frank and Ed rosenthal, indoor marijuana horticulture, by george cervantes, and after you read those two get marijuana botany by robert clarke. If you get all three of these you will have all the knowledge you will ever need at your fingertips.
which would put george's book at the top of the list- indoor horticulture will dial you indoors bro. Im off for more study- seems like im always researching something or other.
