    Pluff mud!

Pluff mud is the smell of fish and other marine flora/fauna rotting in the marshes of the lowcountry of the Carolinas.

Oh, ok. I hardly noticed it before, so I'll have to pay close attention next time I roll through there.

I like the smell of hardware stores. It reminds me of being a kid and going there with my dad.

Aahhh, the good ol fashioned neighborhood hardware store. Brand new lawn equipment, tools, bags of fresh soil stacked on the shelves, stacks of fresh lumber, etc. and the occasional ringing of the cow bell when the door opens and closes. ...Just taking it all in:)

That being said - I live close (about a mile away) to the Airport in Manchester (England) - Some days the aroma of Air fuel comes across the fields and through and reminds me of the above quote

it feels better then the itch of being nibbled to death by tiny almost micro scopic insects. that's what i use it for.
a little sting by itself never hurt anybody, its the damd itch that comes after that drives me nuts,
especially when it spoils my concentration from doing anything, or even just dreaming.

The smell of cedar shakes, which I got to smell for decades while installing them. There are certain smells that bring back time, people and place, but I can't remember what they are, except when they happen and then they are gone.

I was wandering in the woods of the NC mountains, and the fall sun was beating down on the bed of pine needles on the forest floor. The scent of the trees and the pine and the crisp air was...oof. I wish it could be bottled.
