i am thinking of traveling amsterdam in july(whole month) 2006 with a bike/by foot and my backbakc (has tent) can i find a town every 30-50km? the farmers wont shoot me from setting me tent next to thair crops for a day or two? so any cities in holland/netherlands other than amsterdam worth visiting i am definetly interested in hearing about. i will start the 2nd part of my travel (first being 1month in amsterdam) dont care if the city doesnt have a coffee shop as long as they dont care me smoking joint and can communicate in english wich i think all dutch can do.
I can assure you that there's always a town within 30 km. Sometimes it sucks that you cant ever look in any direction without seeing some kind of building. If you want to set up your tent, just ask the farmer politely first, im sure most will led you. No clue about coffeeshop, but im pretty sure almost every bigger town or city has one.
Yes indeed. I advice you to go to Utrecht, Middelburg, Enschede, Groningen and Maastricht; the cities which I like the best. Oh, and by the way: almost erery city has a 2 or more coffeeshops. In Enschede I`ve already discovered 20. But amsterdam still breaks the record with a couple of 100.
Here are a couple of sites that list coffeeshops outside of Amsterdam. http://coffeeshop.startpagina.nl/ http://coffeeshop-guide.com/
