Has anyone read his Homecoming series. My god this man has to be one of the greatest writers of our time. This series has really mad me think about how the world is today, and made me an more open minded person. If you havnt read it let me give you a summary of the first novel. High about the planet Harmony, the oversould watches. Its task, programmed so many millenia ago, is to guard the human settlement on this planet--to protect this fragile remnant of earth from all threats. To protect them, most of all, from themselves. The Oversould has done its jobe well. There is no war on Harmony. There are no weapons of mass destruction. There is no technology that could lead to weapons of war. By control of the data banks, and subtle interference in the very thoughts of the people, the artificial intelligence has fulfilled its mission. But now there is a problem. In orbit, the Oversoul realizes that it has lost access to some of its memory banks, and some of its power systems are failing. And on the planet, men are beginning to think about power, wealth , and conquest. These books have such rich characters and the storyline and morals behind the book are incredible. I would recommend this series to anyone.
I haven't read that series, but I love the Ender's Game books. Normally I don't go for the science fiction/ space type books but Orson Scott Card is amazing with them and makes them feel so real. I've also read a book he co-authored although I can't remember the name now.. it's about a monkey.
i like his "alvin maker" series... about a young man (who is the seventh son of a seventh son) growing up in the late 1700s & early 1800s in an america where magic works...
Yeah ive read his both the enders game series and the Alvin makers series. His Homecoming is way better than the Alvin Maker series. Ive found that to be alittle drawn out after 7 books. His Homecoming series is about equal with the enders game series i would say.
I'll have to read the series you speak of. The Enders Game series had an effect on the way that I looked at death etc... Very profound stuff.
