How important is organic products and food to you? Do you care? I try to buy organic whenever I can, if I can find organic, and if it is not outrageously priced. Prices are not usually not too bad here and it is worth it to me to pay a little more if I have to to buy products that are more environmently friendly and healthier. I also have started growing a small organic garden.
I'd love to buy organic but the only organic food place around is Whole Foods and they are way too expensive! Once it cost my mom $17 for 3 artichokes and a bag of tomatoes. I've been meaning to start my own veggie garden but my dad is trying to sell our house (no luck yet!) and I'm not going to start a garden and then have to leave it.
Most of the regular grocery stores here carry some organic products and they are usually not too expensive. So I guess I am lucky. The health food store has a lot more organic but they are a lot more expensive too, but I still go there sometimes for a few things I can't find anywhere else. I understand. This is not a permenant house for me so I kept it small. If you think you might move soon you could always grow veggies in pots so they are portable.
Farmer's markets are a great way to get organic produce. The stuff at Whole Foods may have travelled as far as agri-buisness produce.
