Coastal Oregon is beautiful, but inland is pretty much the sticks.

Oregon is very beautiful. Along the coast and inland. If you love outdoor activities, Oregon has it all.

You father is right about not many jobs available. My sister lives in Portland, OR and she had told me the same thing...............

From what I gather, only living in OR for a short while, Roseburg is not that great. My close friend grew up there and hated it. She says if you want to work in a factory it's a great place, but besides that there's not much there. But you'll never know unless you try it:D

I LOVE Oregon. I just moved to Tampa from Seattle (which sucks) & sometimes we used to go to Oregon to see family. A great "hippy" environment. I want to move there when I move outta the house. If you get a chance, check out Grants Pass. Now that is a beautiful little town with small shops & coffee shops lining the streets. Also, a lot of mary jane circulates in OR, so if you are into that...heh. I am so jealous your parents are even suggesting that. One of my fav. places in the world.
    Best wishes.

I'll be moving back to Portland soon, and I know that to be a great place. But then again, I prefer big cities over small towns. So it really depends on what you like...

Most of inland Oregon is extremely beautiful too. Roseburg area however, is pretty ugly and uninteresting I think. I've heard that the job market in Oregon isn't that good, but I dont' really know. It'll still always be my favorite state though.

I grew up in a tiny town next to Grants Pass, and it is a wonderful area, I miss it a lot.
