Ahh... opium. What a great plant! I've decided to grow opium inside! I have 4 pots set up in my window sill, direct sunlight for about 12 hours a day.. has anyone ever grown it indoors with some tips for me? Thanks for your help
its a pretty easy plant to grow, it grows back every year, all you need is light and you dont really have to do anything to it.. and its a favorite among alot of flower fans.. google would probably be teh best help i never grow it inside, but we have a few outside that come up every year, we dont do anything to em except cutting the pods at the right time..
4 pots aint shit. wait until it gets a little bit further into late winter then germinate them outside. they will germinate in 60 degree weather. best thing is, you can just scatter em and lightly cover with almost no dirt. weed out the overgrowths, let them grow all spring and by early to mid summer you will have a little field of dreams. the best strain to grow is giganteum
score it, scrape up the latex, and smoke the opium. thats all i would do with any poppy i had growing. isn't that the point? just kidding. i would dry it and put it in a pretty flower arrangement. ahhh i can't wait for the end of february to get here and start my little patch for this year.
mmm, that is a beautiful plant right there. i would deffffffinitely eat the raw opium, if anything.. the 4 plants i planted, are now dead but i planted 6 more pots, in peat moss cups, so that when it gets a tad bit warmer, i'll easily transport them into my garden outside theyre about 1.3cm each now.. i love looking to them and talking to them, theyre the most beautiful things ive ever created the image i attached is day 6 of growth.. during the day i keep them in my window sill (almost full sun light), and at night i keep them under a fluorsecent light, approximately 12/12 hour rotation
are cooking poppy seeds and opium poppy seeds the same poppy? can I grown the seeds I buy from a box of cooking poppy seeds?
