What does france look like from abroad? I mean, as travellers, or simply as a foreigner, what ideas, clichés, thoughts come to your mind when france is the topic?

I guess the answer is located somewhere in between glamour and ridiculousness.

No! I see france as a very pure country, no ridiculousness no glamour. Turn aside the fashion weeks in Paris, the movie parade in Cannes - I see its nature beauty, way of living in traditional french village... Additionally the technology, the economic developement for me as an inhabitant of a LEDC is new and exciting. I like France!!!!

Erm...Honestly, the cliche's I think of (or was told) are long stick bread, lots of wine, berets (spelling is wrong. Those flat hats).

Some clichés are real, like cocorico syndrome, Parigot driving, and there is lots of consumptions of wine, which means concern for the liver. Pure I cannot see. Cheating on taxes, being cheap, being aloof, getting away with things - the pastimes of the Frenchman. I am not saying all français, but a lot really do follow these clichés. Not in a bad way, either.
